I’m Barbara Huson (formerly Barbara Stanny)—author, teacher, therapist, coach, and a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment.
I’ve always been obsessed with Women and Power...probably because, growing up in the 50’s & 60s, women had very little. Then came Women’s Lib and incredible opportunities, long off limits, were suddenly available to us.
Fresh out of grad school, I became a career counselor, guiding the throngs of women flooding into the workplace. For the first time, we had access to real power (or so it seemed).
Over time, however, it hit me. The Women’s Movement forgot to address money—how to make it or manage it—putting many of us at a distinct disadvantage. So I became a financial coach to empower women.
But A Course in Miracles changed everything for me.
I began to see it’s not the job or the money (or anything external) that gives us power. True power begins within.
My mission now is simple: to support women in awakening to the truth of who they are and the enormous power they already possess.
I’ve been a devoted student of A Course in Miracles for over 40 years. I know how overwhelming it can be. For a long time, I found the language dense, the concepts confusing, and the text nearly impossible to digest.
I didn’t have anyone to help me decipher it—but I never gave up.
The Awakening is the culmination of everything I’ve learned—spiritually, psychologically, personally—about unlocking the power to create a life you’ve only dreamed of.

I've simplified the teachings so they’re easy to understand and deeply transformative—no previous experience needed.
What makes The Awakening different from other ACIM classes?
When I created The Awakening, I knew I didn’t want to just teach the theory & principles of A Course in Miracles. I wanted to help you apply those principles to your daily life. From day one, you’ll begin to shift your perception, train your mind, and awaken the limitless power you’ve long forgotten you possess.
Is this a religious program?
Not at all. While The Awakening is rooted in the spiritual teachings of A Course in Miracles, it isn’t tied to any specific religion. It’s about reconnecting with your Power, your truth, and your inner peace—whatever your beliefs may be.
